Birth Doula

As a birth doula my support begins in your pregnancy. We meet prenatally to explore all of your birth options, to get to know one another better, to practice labor coping skills, and to clarify your vision for your birth. Together, with your partner, we discuss your anticipated needs and desires for labor comfort and other aspects of the process. Then I go on call for you and you are free to contact me at any time when you think you're in labor. During your labor I will provide physical, emotional, and informational support, guide and support your partner and anyone else you welcome into your birth space, and facilitate communication between you and your care team. In the first couple of hours after birth, I will stay at your side to provide breastfeeding support and make sure you and your family are adjusting well. I also offer a postpartum visit to check on you and offer any guidance or resources you may need regarding postpartum recovery or newborn care. If you've also hired me as an NCS/postpartum doula, then this session will be integrated into that care.
